Use MABA for videos you actually own (or have permission for). Don't clone voices without consent. Pay your bill. Don't hack the servers. If you mess up, we can suspend your account. If we mess up, our liability is capped. Indian law applies. Grievances go to grievance@heymaba.com.
01 Who we are
MABA (ಮಾಭಾ, from ಮಾತೃಭಾಷೆ — "mother tongue") is operated by CK Studio, a sole proprietorship registered in India, based in Coorg, Karnataka.
In these Terms, "MABA", "we", "us", and "our" all mean CK Studio. "You" means the person or organisation using the Service. "The Service" means the MABA website, web app, API, WhatsApp bot, and any related tools we run.
02 What MABA does
MABA takes a video you give us — by upload or by a public link — and produces a version of that video dubbed into another language, using AI-based voice cloning, translation, and text-to-speech. We also offer ancillary tools like video download and subtitle generation.
The Service is AI-assisted. Output quality depends on the input audio, speaker accent, background noise, and the languages involved. We make no guarantee of broadcast-grade perfection. If something sounds off, use Fix-it-free (see §8).
03 Eligibility & account
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. If you're between 13 and 18, you may use the Service only with a parent or guardian's consent and under their account. Under-13s may not use MABA.
When you sign up, you agree to give us accurate information (email, phone if applicable) and to keep your login credentials secure. You're responsible for anything that happens under your account — including if someone else uses it because you shared a password.
One person, one account. Creating multiple accounts to game free-tier limits is a violation of these Terms and may result in suspension.
04 Acceptable use
Don't use MABA for any of the following. This list is not exhaustive — use your judgement.
- Content that isn't yours. Don't upload videos or audio you don't own or don't have explicit permission to use.
- Non-consensual voice cloning. You may only clone voices with the speaker's documented consent. That includes public figures, celebrities, journalists, and politicians. Family members count. "I found it on YouTube" does not.
- Deepfakes that defame or deceive. No putting words into anyone's mouth to harm them, mislead voters, spread disinformation, impersonate officials, or damage reputations.
- Sexual content involving minors — zero tolerance. Non-consensual intimate content of adults — zero tolerance.
- Hate speech & harassment. Content targeting people based on caste, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, nationality, or ethnicity. Harassment campaigns. Doxxing.
- Illegal content under Indian law — including content that violates the IT Act, 2000 and Rules, 2021; the IPC; the DPDP Act, 2023; or any applicable state law.
- Fraud, scams, phishing, or anything designed to trick people out of money or information.
- Malware, reverse engineering, scraping. Don't probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any part of the Service. Don't scrape our pages. Don't disassemble our apps.
- Rate limit abuse. Don't try to exceed your plan's quotas through automation, workarounds, or multiple accounts.
We may remove content and suspend accounts for any of the above, usually without warning for the serious ones.
05 Your content & our licence
You own your content. The video you upload, the audio it contains, the transcript we produce, the dub we generate — all of that belongs to you. We don't claim ownership.
What we do claim is a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to process, store, and transmit your content only as needed to provide the Service to you. That means we can:
- Store your uploaded video temporarily while we dub it.
- Send audio to our speech-to-text, translation, and text-to-speech providers.
- Store the output so you can download or re-download it.
- Store a voice embedding (a mathematical fingerprint of the speaker's voice) to re-use across your dubs.
We don't use your content to train our own models without your explicit opt-in. We don't sell it. We don't share it publicly. Retention periods are in our Privacy Policy.
You warrant that you have all necessary rights, licences, and consents for the content you upload, including rights to any music, third-party clips, and speaker voices.
06 Voice cloning consent
If the voice in the video is not yours, you must have documented consent from the speaker before dubbing. MABA assumes you have it. If someone disputes a dub you've made, you agree to produce proof of consent on our request.
Consent means an email, a signed release, a WhatsApp message, or any verifiable record where the speaker says: "Yes, you may clone and dub my voice using AI for [this purpose]." Implied consent is not consent.
We may remove dubs and suspend accounts if we receive a credible complaint from a speaker whose voice was used without consent. We may also report the incident to law enforcement if the use appears to violate Indian law.
07 Plans, payments, renewals
MABA offers these plans:
- Free. 2 dubs / month, up to 2 min each. Watermarked.
- Starter — ₹299/month. 15 dubs, 5 min each.
- Pro — ₹999/month. 50 dubs, 15 min each. No watermark. Script editor.
- Business — ₹3,999/month. 200 dubs, 30 min each. API access.
- WhatsApp pay-per-video — one-off payments from ₹29 to ₹999 based on video length.

Renewal & auto-billing
Paid subscriptions auto-renew monthly on your billing date. We use Razorpay as our payment processor. You can cancel renewal at any time from your account dashboard — your plan stays active until the end of the paid cycle, then reverts to Free.
Price changes
If we change prices, we'll notify you at least 30 days in advance by email and in-app. You can cancel before the change takes effect if you don't want to pay the new price.
Failed payments
If your payment fails, we'll retry twice over 3 days and notify you. If it still fails, your plan drops to Free at the end of the cycle and your paid features are disabled until you update your payment method.
Taxes
Prices on the website are in Indian Rupees and are inclusive of taxes where applicable. If the law requires us to collect GST or any other tax at a future date, we'll add it transparently at checkout.
08 Watermarks & Fix-it-free
Free plan output is watermarked with the MABA logo in a corner. There's no paid option to remove the Free-tier watermark — upgrade to Starter or above if you need watermark-free dubs.
On Starter, your first 10 dubs each month are watermark-free. Dubs 11–15 are watermarked; you can pay ₹19 per dub to remove the watermark. Pro and Business dubs are never watermarked.
Fix-it-free
Every plan includes a number of free re-generations — if a dub comes out wrong (wrong language detection, bad pronunciation, odd pacing), tap Fix it free on the result screen and we'll regenerate at no extra cost.

- Starter: 2 fixes / month
- Pro: 10 fixes / month
- Business: unlimited fixes
Fix-it-free is a best-effort feature. It does not guarantee that the second dub will be perfect. It's not a substitute for giving us a clean source video with audible speech.
09 Usage limits & overages
Each plan has monthly limits on the number of dubs and the duration of each dub. If you exceed your plan's video count but want to keep dubbing, you pay overage at ₹5/min (₹4/min on Business). You'll see the overage rate before confirming any video that triggers it.
Unused dubs do not roll over to the next billing cycle. Unused minutes don't either. If you regularly hit limits, upgrade.
Overage charges are non-refundable once the dub is generated (see our Refund Policy).
10 API access
API access is included with the Business plan. You get an API key; you're responsible for keeping it secret. If someone gets your key and runs up charges, that's on you — rotate keys from the dashboard.
API usage counts against your plan's quotas. Rate limits are published in the API docs. We reserve the right to throttle or block requests that look abusive, malformed, or automated beyond reasonable use.
11 Our IP & yours
The MABA name, the ಮಾಭಾ logo, the tagline "The warmth of a familiar voice", the website design, the source code, and the trained models are all the intellectual property of CK Studio. You don't get any rights to them beyond the right to use the Service.
You keep all rights to the content you upload and to the dubs we produce for you. Once generated under a paid plan or a valid Free-tier quota, the output is yours to publish, monetise, broadcast, remix — whatever you want, within the law.
12 Third-party services
MABA is built on top of several specialised providers — for speech-to-text, translation, voice cloning, payments, hosting, and messaging. Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers' terms, indirectly, where applicable.
The current list of providers, what they do, and what data they receive is in our Privacy Policy (§5). We may change providers from time to time with reasonable notice.
We're not responsible for outages or issues caused by third-party providers, though we'll work to route around them where possible.
13 Service availability
We aim for high availability but don't offer an uptime SLA on the Free, Starter, or Pro plans. Business customers can request a written SLA addendum.
We may schedule maintenance windows (usually on Sunday nights IST) and we'll announce them in advance where possible. We may also take the Service down without notice to address security issues or abuse.
14 Suspension & termination
By you
You can cancel your paid plan any time from the dashboard. You can delete your account entirely by emailing hello@heymaba.com — we'll delete your data per the retention schedule in the Privacy Policy.
By us
We may suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate §4 (Acceptable use) or §6 (Voice cloning consent).
- Don't pay your bill after reasonable notice.
- Use the Service in a way that creates legal risk for us or our other users.
- Attempt to access the Service by unauthorised means.
For serious violations (CSAM, non-consensual intimate content, fraud), suspension is immediate and permanent, and we may report you to law enforcement. For lesser violations, we'll usually notify you and give you a chance to fix the issue.
On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Your content is deleted per the retention schedule. Fees already paid are non-refundable except as provided in the Refund Policy.
15 Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted availability.
AI output is imperfect. Don't use MABA dubs for anything where getting it exactly right matters without human review — medical instructions, legal notices, financial advice, emergency communications, election materials, or official government content. We are not responsible for the consequences of publishing un-reviewed AI output.
16 Liability limits
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising out of or relating to the Service is capped at the greater of:
- the total fees you paid to us in the 12 months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim; or
- ₹10,000 (ten thousand Indian Rupees).
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, lost goodwill, or damage to reputation — even if we were told such damages were possible.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (e.g., liability for gross negligence, fraud, or wilful misconduct).
17 Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CK Studio, its owner, employees, and contractors from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or connected to:
- Your use of the Service in breach of these Terms.
- Content you upload, including claims of copyright infringement, defamation, or violation of publicity rights.
- Voice cloning without proper consent.
- Your violation of any law or third-party right.
18 Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, notify you by email and in-app at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
Continuing to use MABA after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms. If you don't accept them, stop using the Service and cancel your account before the date.
19 Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service.
Try to resolve with us first
Before going to court, please write to our grievance officer (see §20). Most things can be fixed over email. We'll respond within 15 business days.
If we can't agree
If we can't resolve it, either side may refer the dispute to arbitration in Bengaluru under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, by a sole arbitrator mutually agreed upon. Language: English. Seat: Bengaluru.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, form the complete agreement between you and CK Studio regarding the MABA Service. They supersede any prior agreements, verbal understandings, or aspirational WhatsApp replies.
